Friday, June 13th
Bike Rodeo,2-4 p.m. at Penn Landing in North Liberty (near Molly’s Cupcakes and Yotopia). Bring your bicycles and helmets! Pre-registration not required, but there will be a special treat for those that do! *For kids entering kindergarten-eighth grade.
North Liberty Fun Days Parade and Children’s Fair, 7 p.m. in North Liberty. If your kids love parades and candy, definitely check this out! A Children’s Fair will follow the parade at 8:30 p.m. in Penn Meadows Park. The Fair will feature games, food, public safety vehicles, a dj, and water fights.
Friday Night Concert Series, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Ped Mall (downtown Iowa City). Bring your family downtown for a night of great music and fun! This week’s performers will be Recliners. Rain location: Chauncey Swan parking ramp. Free.
Saturday, June 14th
Iowa City Area Juneteenth Celebration, 12-4 in Mercer Park (Iowa City). This is the 4th Annual Iowa City Area Juneteenth Celebration Commemorating the End of Slavery. Volunteers and community members will assist in activities and games for the event. There will be free food (while supplies last), vendors, music and live entertainment. Children can enjoy story time, a bouncy house, clowns, face painting and water games (IC Fire Dept.). There will be a Health and Financial Wellness Fair indoors and a chance for participants to win wonderful door prizes.
Sunday, June 15th
Kids Dream Summer Movie Series, (Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.) at the Coral Ridge Mall and Sycamore Mall theatres. Admission is $2, $2.50 soft drinks and popcorns. This week’s movie is The Lego Movie.
