Friday, June 27th
Linn County Fair, June 25-30th in Central City. Visit the fair for food, carnival rides, 4-H exhibits, concerts, and fireworks on Friday and Saturday nights.
Family Free Friday at the Coral Ridge Mall from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Includes free admission to the ice arena (2 kids free with paid adult), free figure skating exhibition, free carousel rides, free admission to the Iowa Children’s Museum (all ages), and free kid’s meal with purchase of adult combo meal at many food court restaurants.
Cedar Rapids BBQ Roundup, Thursday-Sunday at the McGrath Amphitheater. BBQ masters, both local and from across the country will compete for the best BBQ! Winners are eligible for cash prizes. Patrons can enjoy kids activities, family-friendly entertainment, as wel as live music from some of the area’s best local bands.
Saturday, June 28th
Fly Iowa Air Show, Saturday and Sunday at the Iowa City Airport. A weekend full of aviation activities including an Air Show from 12-2, various aircraft on display, youth activities, food vendors, a movie in the hangar, and more.
How I Became a Pirate, 1 p.m. at the Old Creamery Theatre in Amana. A wrong turn at Bora Bora lands Capt’n Braid Beard and his crew on Jeremy Jacob’s beach. Come along as Jeremy and the pirates search for the perfect place to bury a treasure chest, in this musical adventure on the high seas. Argh! Tickets are $9 and everyone gets the opportunity to meet the cast after the show! *Other showtimes and dates available.
