Friday, July 25th
Family Free Friday at the Coral Ridge Mall from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Includes free admission to the ice arena (2 kids free with paid adult), free figure skating exhibition, free carousel rides, free admission to the Iowa Children’s Museum (all ages), and free kid’s meal with purchase of adult combo meal at many food court restaurants.
Outdoor Children’s Theatre- The Land of Lost Toys on the lawn at Brucemore in Cedar Rapids. Showtimes are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 23rd-26th. When Aunt Peggy is babysitting, her bedtime stories are usually beyond compare. Tonight’s story of The Land of Lost Toys is beyond Jack’s and Jill’s wildest dreams. Children and parents alike will be transported into a magical and mysterious world. Help Jack and Jill find their way home before it is too late! Cost: $5/adult and $3/child (age 1+).
Friday Night Concert Series, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Ped Mall (downtown Iowa City). Bring your family downtown for a night of great music and fun! This week’s performers will be The FunkDaddies. Rain location: Chauncey Swan parking ramp. Free.
Saturday, July 26th
Iowa City Farmer’s Market, 7:30 a.m. to Noon in the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp (downtown Iowa City). This is an awesome open-air market featuring fresh, locally grown produce, plants and flowers, baked goods, handicrafts, and more!
Now Be a Dad Big Truck Event, at Hawkeye Downs from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Dads and their kids (moms welcome too!) are invited to this event hosted by the Eastern Iowa Alliance for Fatherhood & Children. Admission is FREE with the donation of basic need items or school supplies. A variety of vehicles and motor equipment will be on display, and most will be available for hands-on experience.
