Spring is in the air and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend! However, we all know how Iowa weather can change pretty quickly. If it is nice you may be tempted to do some spring cleaning, but if that’s really not your thing…grab the family, pack a lunch and head out to some of these fun area events!
Friday, April 10th
Friday Swim Night at the North Liberty Rec Center. This is happening from 4-8pm and cost is $10 per family of 4 (additional $2 per person after that). After your swim head over to the library and enjoy Alexander and the Terrible No Good Very Bad Day. Bring your pillows and blankets and covered beverage. Popcorn is provided. Movie starts at 6pm!
Saturday, April 11th
Lowe’s Build and Grow. Take the kids to Lowe’s and build something! Lowe’s provides the goggles, hammer, project, and an apron. The kids get a patch to iron on their apron at the end. The spots are filled for this weekend’s project but registration for the next project opens on Monday April 13th! Register early as spots fill up quickly!
Skating Saturday. Did any of you ever go skating as a child? Want to try it out again? Head on over to the Iowa City Recreation Center for Skating Saturday! Youth nine and below can skate from 6-7pm. After 7pm anyone under 9 years must be an accomplished skater and accompanied by an adult. All others 10 years and above can skate. Skates are provided and it is FREE!
Sunday, April 12th
Eulenspiegel Puppet Show. Do you enjoy puppet shows? Head over to West Liberty for a Puppet Show at 2 pm! Learn about puppets and local history all at the same time! This is happening at the West Liberty Depot. Cost is a donation!
Kids’ Yoga. Want to introduce your children to yoga? Head over to the gymnastics room at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center in Iowa City from 3-4 pm. This is for students ages kindergarten-6th grade. No pre-registration is necessary. Bring a yoga mat to class and wear comfortable clothing. Cost is FREE!
Iowa Women’s Tennis. Iowa Women’s Tennis is back in action! Come watch the action at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex from 11-1pm.
