Mom’s Guide to 4th of July {2015} Festivals and Fireworks in the Corridor

Independence Day is coming up this weekend! There are some great festivals and events going on around the Corridor for the 4th of July, including plenty of opportunities to see fireworks! To make things easy, I’ve compiled a list for you!  If you’re planning to do a little grilling, be sure to check out our favorite grilling recipes, and if you’re hosting or going to a party, we’ve got you covered with our list of favorite 4th of July recipes! Fireworks and Festivals in the Corridor

Independence Day Festivals

Freedom Festival, June 18-July 4 in Cedar Rapids. There are a ton of great events taking place the rest of this week for Freedom Festival! This includes the 5th annual Bourbon and Blues Fest this weekend, car & bike show, Freedom Festival Concert, fireworks, and more! See the complete schedule here!

4th Fest, July 1-4 in Coralville. Head to Coralville for this multi-day festival featuring a carnival, food vendors, concert on Friday night, parade, fireworks ,and more!

Independence Day Celebration, July 3rd in Marengo.  Childrens’ activities begin at 2 p.m. Followed by a parade at 6, movie in the park, fireworks, and a street dance!

Shiloh’s Independence Day Celebration, July 3rd @ the Shiloh Amphitheater in Kalona. Head to Kalona for food, music, family activities, and fireworks! Admission is $5/car.

Iowa City Jazz Festival, July 2-4 in downtown IC. Named one of the Top 10 Jazz Festivals in the country, the IC Jazz Festival is celebrating it’s 25th year with amazing music, food, family-friendly activities, and fireworks!

Salute to Freedom, July 4th in Williamsburg. Williamsburg is hosting a fun, family-friendly 4th of July complete with kids’ activities, food, a parade, live music, fireworks, and an outdoor movie.

Firecracker 4th Antique Show, July 3-4 in Amana. If you love antiques, head to the Amana Colonies RV Park for a huge antique show taking place indoors and out!

Wellman 4th of July Celebration, July 4th in Wellman. This small-town celebration features a 5k run/walk, parade, family activities, food, music, and fireworks.

Eastern Iowa Brass Band, July 4th @ 2 p.m. in West Branch. The Eastern Iowa Brass Band will be performing at the West Branch High School.

Lincoln Highway Antiques Extravaganza, July 4th from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in Mt. Vernon. The open-air antiques market will feature 60-plus vendor booths, including the return of Gary and Sheri, the “Picking Preachers” of HGTV’s and DIY’s “West End Salvage,” who will be making their 2nd annual trip to the antique festival. New this year will be a partnership with the Mount Vernon Area Arts Council (MVAAC) that will bring the band Lily Wren to the event.
