Weekend Wednesday: October 24-25

It’s the weekend before Halloween and there are several fun fall family activities taking place.  Check out my top picks…most of them are free!

Weekend Wednesday

Saturday, October 24th

Trick or Treat at Wilson’s Apple Orchard 10-6pm.  Wear your Halloween costume out to the orchard and receive a prize. Pick some apples and pumpkins or take a trailer ride out or a leisurely walk. Either way, you’ll definitely need some donuts or turnovers to fuel up for the day. We have lots of bakery treats to choose from and hot mulled cider! We also have fresh pressed apple cider for sale in gallons and half gallons.

Spooky Tubas 10:30-11am.  Join the Coralville Public Library for a special Family Storytime with Spooky Tubas!  Costumed guests from the University of Iowa’s Tuba-Euphonium studio, Collegium Tubum, will perform in Schwab Auditorium.  Come in costume & bring the whole family to this spooktacular event!

TAKO (Take Your Kids Outdoors) Pumpkin Carving 11-1pm.  Come on out to the park to carve or paint your jack-o-lantern.  Event is taking place at the Johnson County Poor Farm located at 4811 Melrose Ave, Iowa City.

Trunk or Treat with Children’s Therapy Center 2-4:30pm.  Celebrate Halloween at the Children’s Center Trunk or Treat, a safe and family-friendly celebration featuring trunk or treating, pumpkin decorating, party activities, bouncy house, face painting, snacks and more! The event is free. Wear your costume and bring a donation for the Crisis Center of Johnson County food bank.
