This has been such a great fall so far. This weekend is shaping up to be another gorgeous weekend as well! Here are my top picks of activities going on in the Corridor for you and your family!
Saturday, November 14th
Saturday Morning Retro Cartoons. 10:30-11:00am Come watch some children’s cartoons from the 80’s on a Saturday morning! Pajamas, stuffed animals and pillows are welcome. We may even have cereal for you to enjoy! Saturday Morning Cartoons is recommended for all ages of kids, but parents are asked to sit with their younger children.
Gobble Wobble. 11:00am. Please join Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) on Saturday, November 14th (rain/cold weather date Sunday, November 15th) for our annual Gobble Wobble! Please show up around 11:00. Risa Dotson Eicke, local nature enthusiast, will lead a 1 mile hike around the Woodpecker Trail Loop starting at about 11:15. After the hike, we will have a free lunch and a small fire to roast marshmallows near the parking lot of the Trailhead. For this event, we are partnering with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake. Participants should dress for hiking. Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions. Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinking water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring a digital camera and/or binoculars. You may also bring a roasting stick! This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Sunday, November 15th
Lil’ Turkey Trot. 10:00am. The Turkey Trot will be taking place during The Dance Expo at the Marriott on November 15th! Fun for all ages! FREE ADMISSION! Bounce House, Trot-4-aTreat, (kiddos can get a free treat from vendors), crafts, activities, balloon twister entertainment and fun!
Inflatables at the CRWC. 12:00-3:00pm. The inflatables will be out for use today at Campus Recreation & Wellness Center! All times are noon – 3:00 p.m. Must be able to swim 25 yards proficiently, without stopping, and without goggles on prior prior to participating. No flotation devices are allowed. Please note, we will not have the slide available
Music is the Word Sing A-long: Little Mermaid. 2:00-4:00pm. Under the Sea, Princess Ariel dreams of walking on land. Will her dreams come true? Stop by the library for a special screening of The Academy Award Winning classic, The Little Mermaid. As part the ICPL “Music Is The Word” series welcoming the University of Iowa School of Music to downtown Iowa City, we will be hosting a classic film and sing-along once a month.
