It was another cold and gloomy Halloween here in the corridor, which made the 4th annual ICMB Halloween Bash all that much more fun! We just love seeing all the kids dressed up and excited about their costumes without having to layer them up and cover it all with winter coats, hats, and gloves. The Halloween Bash was warm, dry, and full of festive fun for all the children. If you snapped photos in the photo booth area or at the event in general, please use #ICMBevents to share the fun! Here are a few highlights from the night:
Venue
This year we were thrilled to host the event in the heart of Iowa City at the Old Brick Church. The staff was friendly and the gorgeous vintage space was just perfect to set the tone for Halloween fun! We were even pleasantly surprised by the numerous options for nearby parking, even though we were tucked in the middle of downtown Iowa City. If you’re looking for space for an event or party this is a great option!
Title Sponsor
Huge shout out to our title sponsor for this event, Montessori School of Iowa City! The Montessori School of Iowa City serves Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty with private Montessori education for students ages 2-12, in addition to before/after school child care options. We have had the pleasure of working with various staff members from the school, and it’s clear that each and every one is passionate about offering children an inclusive, sustainable, and holistic education. The Montessori School of Iowa City is a fabulous option for private education, and we’re proud to have them as a supportive community partner. The kids LOVED the fall stencil activity and festive bag toss provided at their Halloween Bash booth!
Trick or Treat Booths
As always, we can’t have a trick-or-treat event without tables full of candy. And games, too! Big thank-yous to all of the following trick-or-treat sponsors:
Big Picture Gallery & Studio: We introduced an amazing new community partner at this event! Big Picture Gallery & Studio offers corridor residents incredible Pre-k-8 art classes and camps, wine & paint for adults, birthday parties, and special events, plus they have original artwork on display and available to purchase. The director, Becky, didn’t miss a beat as she helped each child create a custom monster at her booth! If you or your children are ready to immerse yourself in a world of creativity, you need to check out Big Picture Gallery!
Congruent Life Chiropractic: In addition to candy and fun facts about chiropractic care, Congruent Life featured a skeleton-inspired bucket toss–lovingly named the “Spine Toss”–for kids to enjoy! If you’re looking for excellent chiropractic services for you and your family, be sure to check out Congruent Life today.
Enrichment Therapies: We always love seeing the Enrichment Therapies staff at our events, and the sensory table they provided for our guests was a big hit! Did you know that they have programs for kids of pretty much ALL ages? From feeding/swallowing issues in babies/toddlers, to speech/language/articulation and reading in older kids, the super-friendly staff of Enrichment Therapies can help you to give your children the very best help that they can get. If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out their website and all of the programs they have to offer!
UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital Safety Store: It’s always a treat to have the Safety Store staff on hand to provide expert advice and recommendations on how to keep our children safe! The store itself also has a wide range of safety products at incredible prices. We kept them busy at the Halloween Bash with a steady stream of kids excited to play their candy corn bowling game and parents excited to pick their brains with safety questions! Treats
Hopefully no one left the event without grabbing a Halloween cookie from Vanilla Beans and Daydreams! We are always so happy to feature this talented local mom’s handmade desserts at our events. This was an extra fun and festive treat, in addition to the tasty witch’s mix and juice boxes enjoyed by all the little monsters!
Thank YOU!
Last, but certainly not least, thank YOU for bringing your families out to celebrate Halloween with us! We hope your kiddos enjoyed all of the activities, and we hope you all went home with buckets FULL of goodies. Hopefully enough for the kids to have some and for mommy and daddy to snag some during naptime, too! We hope to see you again next year!
