As a child, when I was asked what my favorite holiday was, my response would always be the 4th of July. This was for a couple reasons: it was during my birthday month and of course for the FIREWORKS! Who does not love fireworks?! Something about them brings the nostalgia back from my childhood, and now I get to share it with my daughter.
Now with the 4th approaching quickly, it’s time to start planning the coordinating outfits and family-fun events.

Private Fireworks Shows
Last year’s legislation changed the rules of purchasing fireworks. Although it is legal for purchase, most municipalities in Johnson County have strict ordinances in place that limits and/or prohibits the sale and use of fireworks in town. This article from last year offers further information about local fireworks, but be sure to check your local laws and limits.
Above all else, remember that safety is of utmost importance, and follow fireworks rules for families to keep your kids (and everyone) safe.
