I have raised one child to actual adulthood. She can vote and buy her own Zyrtec. I’ve been at this Mom thing for a while, and let me tell you, my give-a-care has given out. All the things that seemed So Very Important when my kids were younger, as it turns out, aren’t always so important in the long run. I’m honestly surprised when I still hear people putting down working mothers as outsourcing motherhood. Or stay-at-home mothers as wasting their potential. We’re all just doing the best we can here, friends.
So, from my years in the parenting trenches, I present to you this handy chart of valid and not valid parenting choices.
I think this is very dangerous and not at all cute or fun as you intended it to be. Children die sleeping in bed with adults because they are suffocated due to pillows, blankets, and/or adults or other children rolling over them. It is extremely painful to hear that parents take this issue lightly. https://www.webmd.com/baby/news/20180212/baby-suffocation-deaths-from-cosleeping-rise
I’ve actually done a lot of research on this, myself, and children co-sleeping (or in an arrangement like a co-sleeper) has been done in various countries all over the world for centuries. You are correct, that a person needs to be smart and not have soft bedding. But I’m not taking it nearly as lightly as you may think. I can also cite research studies. https://www.naturalchild.org/articles/guest/tami_breazeale.html
Irony: Abby comes along to fight on an article titled “I can’t believe we’re still fighting about this.”
