March Mom Talk: Your Child and Digital Security

Our Host

We are so grateful to the staff at the US Cellular for hosting our March Mom Talk event. Entitled “Your Child and Digital Security”, this event was super informative and eye-opening for every parent who attended.  They brought a wealth of knowledge on all things digital safety, and we all learned so much.  I truly believe that every single mom who attended this event went home and made at least one change to the way they keep their kids safe online and on their mobile devices.

Jonathan Shelton, store manager for the Iowa City US Cellular store, was our speaker for this event.  In addition to being an expert in all things digital security, Jonathan is also a dad, which means he totally understands our fears and concerns as parents. He was gracious enough to share all of the little tips and tricks that he suggests for teens/tweens with cell phones, in addition to helping us understand more about the apps (and more importantly, ghost apps) that our children are using.  Huge shout out to Jonathan for presenting this information in such a helpful, yet easy to understand, manner!

SPECIAL OFFER

We are excited to announce that Jonathan is offering to SHARE all of the information that he presented at the Mom Talk!

Sara and her husband Matt (sweethearts since they were just 16) got married in 2007, and since then have welcomed four beautiful children (Sam in 2008, Cooper in 2010, Nora in 2012, and baby Adam James in December 2015). A born-and-raised Iowan, Sara received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees (in Spanish Literature) from the University of Iowa. After teaching Spanish at every level (from Kindergarten to college!) for nearly 8 years, she fell in love with the City Moms Blog Network and, along with Kaitlyn, launched Iowa City Moms Blog in 2013 and Cedar Rapids Moms Blog in 2016! Since then, she has transitioned to a full time work-from-home mom, and could not be happier about this change!
