As Iowans, Mardi Gras is probably not on the radar . . . but who doesn’t love another excuse to celebrate? Fat Tuesday, as it’s also known, is February 25, 2020, and there are a handful of Mardi Gras events happening in Iowa City.

Saturday, February 22, 2020

Mardi Gras Masquerade at Vue Rooftop
When: 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Tickets: $10
Includes live music, a costume contest, and king cake.

Monday, February 24, 2020

Mardi Gras at Sidekick (*Kid-friendly option!)
When: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Featuring a Mardi Gras story time and make-your-own mask activity.

Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Graduate Iowa City’s Party Gras
When: 7 to 10 p.m.
With New Orleans-inspired food and drink specials, and live jazz.

Dandelion Stompers Mardi Gras at The Mill
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Tickets: $15
A concert of New Orleans jazz, with a special menu offering of red beans and rice.

Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Party at Studio 13
When: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Featuring free beads and masks, as well as Nola-themed drink specials.


Celebrate Mardi Gras at Home!
