Family Friendly Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the Iowa City Area

Updated March 7, 2021

St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. It’s not because I’m Irish or because I love green beer. I always think of St. Patrick’s Day as a celebration of spring! Once we get to March 17, I like to think we’re closer to a spring rain than we are to a winter snow storm (mother nature I’m looking at you!).

I don’t know about you, but the way I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day has changed over the years—although it seems that drinking something green has real staying power. Here are some family friendly ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the Iowa City area this year!

  1. Thank you for adding the canceled to our Library programs. We cancelled for what we feel as doing our part for the community. The building remains open (for now) if you want to stock up on books. Also out of an abundance of caution, we removed all toys from the kids room. We were cleaning and cleaning and just could not keep up.
