Sarah is a proud Iowa native who currently lives in North Liberty with her husband Jonathan and their 2 sons, Aaron and Isaiah. She grew up in rural Benton county and moved to the Iowa City area in 2005 to attend graduate school at the University of Iowa in Physical Therapy. She and her husband met at Luther College when they were both undergraduate students, but they did not begin to date until after she returned from service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras in 2004. They married in 2007 and welcomed Aaron to the family in 2012. Isaiah made his appearance in 2015 on Christmas day, making them a family of four. She loves being a “boy mom” as well as her day job as a pediatric physical therapist. Along with work and family life, Sarah loves music, playing her cello, running, baking, crochet, church activities, cheering for the Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Vikings, and photography.
Angelica was raised in West Liberty just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Iowa City. After getting married to her high school sweetheart and living in the D.C. metro area, they decided it was not where they wanted to raise a family, and moved back to Iowa in 2012. They welcomed their daughter nine months after moving back. Then in 2018 added a yellow lab to their family. Angelica enjoys running, reading, and binge watching shows with her husband. She loves Disney, Reese’s, and being a mom.
Megan, an Iowa native from West Branch, shares her home with husband Cody, two adorable kiddos Charlie and Gwen and their comical bassador Dottie. When she is not smooching on them she is trying to change lives as a social worker. You can find her cruising in Rita her minivan, looking to score deals at second hand stores, taking walks around her neighborhood or on a hot date watching tiktok with her hubby.
Dawn is mom of four tweens and teens and wife to Bryan. While both grew up in Missouri, they moved from Nashville to Coralville in 2006 so Dawn could pursue a BA in Theatre Arts and certificate of Performing Arts Entrepreneurship. Dawn spends her days coloring in the family calendar, office administration, singing and acting, volunteering, kickboxing, and oversharing about respectful parenting and social justice issues. She would rather read a book than go shopping, but you could talk her into meeting for a happy hour or brunch.
Sara is a NW Iowa native who moved across the state to become a Hawkeye! After starting her optometry career in patient care, she now works from home consulting in clinical trials. Sara is a wife, mom to Jacob (Nov. 2010), and stepmom to 4 “big kids” in their late teens/early 20s. Because her son was born at 25 weeks and had a lengthy NICU stay, Sara is passionate about prematurity awareness and supporting other NICU parents. An avid reader, compulsive volunteer-er, and recovering scrapbook paper hoarder, Sara stays busy and loves living in the Corridor!
Kate is the mom to Jack (2006), Liz (2007), and Alice (2011) and an avid Cubs fan through marriage. She’s an assistant professor of mathematics and STEM education at St. Ambrose University and also moonlights as a mathematics teacher at South East Junior High in Iowa City. Between soccer, running club, tumbling, and piano lessons she likes to cook, run, and do yoga. She’s also a sucker for 5Ks with cool swag and awesome medals.
Brenda is an Iowa native who has lived in the Iowa City area since 2005. She is married to her love, Robert, since 2012. Brenda is a teacher by trade who left the classroom full-time in 2013 to been the CEO of her home since the birth of her oldest. She is the mom of three; Gabe (April, 2013) Maggie (April, 2015), and Julianna (September, 2017). Brenda enjoys being active by running and working out. She also enjoys trying new recipes, volunteering, playing board and card games, and being involved in church. Brenda is an elementary substitute teacher and loves cheering on the Cubs, UNI Panthers, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. It is a busy but beautiful life!
Sherri aspires to be the okayist mom ever. Originally from Oregon, she moved to Iowa City in 2006 to get her PhD in Higher Education and Student Affairs. She is married to a fellow Hawkeye, Kyle (fun fact: they got married at Kinnick Stadium!) and they have a daughter Aissa. She works from home full-time as a college enrollment marketing consultant. You can usually find her with her nose in a good book and a cup of coffee in her hand.
Sharon is a Central Iowa native who came to University of Iowa in 1991 and essentially never left the area. She is involved in local community theater, notably as one of the co-founders of Iowa City’s Dreamwell Theatre. She has also directed children’s plays with the Young Footliters group. Sharon is the English Department Coordinator at Kirkwood Community College. She lives in Coralville with her husband, Matt, and three daughters Rachel, Sammi, and Piper.
Meghann is the mom of 5 kids ranging in age from toddler to teenager. She works as the Marketing and Events Manager at Brand Driven Digital. She currently is working toward earning her Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications from Washington State University. Meghann is also a certified yoga instructor. In her free time, she enjoys teaching and practicing yoga and taking Cross Fit classes.
Caroline is an Arizona native who moved to Iowa in 2007… because of a boy. She and that boy got married and live in Coralville with their daughter, Lucy. Caroline works full-time at the University of Iowa. She is a self-taught sewer, fabric hoarder, Starbucks lover, wannabe graphic designer, and lover of books. Her greatest aspirations are to raise a kind, strong, and fearless girl and have a clean house.
Michele is a girl mom originally from Sioux City, IA. Following graduation from University of Iowa in 2008 with a degree in studio art, she has lived in North Liberty with her husband and three daughters. She’s an in-home childcare provider and a cookie artist. She approaches life with a sense of creativity, optimism, and a desire to learn.
Brigette lives in North Liberty with her husband Brian, energetic daughter Kate (October 2014) and their zoo of cats and a dog, Penny, Olive, and Dexter. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Brigette came to Iowa City to attend the journalism school at the University of Iowa, fell in love with the area, and decided she couldn’t leave. After meeting Brian while working at the same Iowa City restaurant in college, they got married in August 2015 in the heart of downtown. She works full time in project management and recently finished her MBA at Upper Iowa University. In her free time, she drags Kate out garage sale-ing, tries to keep up with her reading list and runs, lives for Hawkeye football season, enjoys a good meal on a patio, runs her Bachelor bracket with her family and friends, and chases her daughter around the pool and the park.

Laura Portier Lalumiere
Laura works full time from home as the fundraising and marketing director for a children’s charity and has a master’s degree in nonprofit management. She is married to her college sweetheart, Ryan. After moving together from Maryland, to Southern California, to South Carolina, they moved to Iowa City in 2010. They are having a great time raising three smart, funny, and busy kids. Laura loves watching her kids do what they love, so she is frequently at the ice rink or the soccer field, and you’ll often see her there with a crochet project in her hands. She reads a lot, worries obsessively about politics, watches sappy tv shows, and escapes to the beach whenever possible.
Susie is a mom of two, book-lover and frequent challah baker. She and her family have lived in Iowa City since 2016. In addition to working at The University of Iowa, Susie is a PTA volunteer and sorority advisor. She loves cuddling her kids on the couch.
Mary is an Illinois Native who moved to Iowa in 2006. There she met her Tom Hanks look alike husband and started a family of four with their two daughters Zoey and Munro. In 2018 they decided to begin their biggest adventure by becoming expats and moving abroad to Madrid, Spain where they currently reside. Mary is a middle school art teacher, artist, travel enthusiast, Halloween obsessed, baker, runner, and Starbucks’ top fan.
Linda is a Michigan native who moved to Iowa City in 2011 and hasn’t left yet. She and her husband of eleven years, Jacob, have two spunky kids – a kindergartner and a third grader. Linda works full time at the University of Iowa as the Administrative Director for the Medical Scientist Training Program. Together, Linda and her family enjoy cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers (shhhh!), going on adventures both big and small, and playing board games (they have over 100 and will play with anyone they can talk into it). Linda is often told she has two volumes: on and off, and she will enthusiastically respond to any news you tell her. No matter the volume she uses, Linda is an “old soul” with a love for baking, embroidery, and old movies.
Nikki moved to Iowa from the Quad Cities five years ago. She graduated from Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Campus in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education. She married her husband the same year. Nikki loved the creativity of teaching and continues to bring that same creativity as a stay-at-home mom. During the day, you can find her chasing after her three precocious daughters. She enjoys getting out and spending time with her family!
Anne is a kinda crunchy, kinda unapologetically corner-cutting mom who has lived in Iowa City since 2004. She is a librarian at the Iowa City Public Library with a master’s degree in Library and Information Science. Before returning to grad school, she was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters for several years. Her biggest passion in life is books, but when not reading, Anne also enjoys hiking, low-budget road-tripping, thrifting, DIY home improvements, and drinking beer on patios.
Lianna is a homesteading mama living the sweet country life in rural Solon with her husband and three kids. While you may know her as The Goat Lady, she joyfully bounces between her positions as social media marketing coordinator, kids ministry director, and hobby farm manager. She loves food, the Hawkeyes, and creativity in all forms.

Jen was born in the northeast corner of Iowa and then bounced around Europe and Canada for awhile. She moved back to The Best State Ever in 2014 and planted some roots in the beautiful hamlet of Decorah. She has two little boys and spends her time breaking up wrestling matches, cleaning up, and dreaming about the day when they go off to elementary school. She works full-time as an ER nurse.
