Well, we think it’s safe to say that last night’s Mom’s Night Out was a COMPLETE SUCCESS!! In fact, we were hoping to get a “thank-you” post up by 1pm today, but we were so exhausted from all of the fun last night, it’s getting up a little bit later than planned!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to……
Our Team: A special thank you to our super-supportive team of contributing writers for the Iowa City Moms Blog! We are so lucky to have each and every one of you, and we were so proud to have you standing at the door to welcome our guests! Thank you so much for your help in making this event run so smoothly! You are an irreplaceable part of ICMB!
Our Host: The food last night was ah-mazing. Seriously, SO good. Kyodai Japanese Grill in North Liberty has excellent service, a great atmosphere, and delicious food. We highly recommend it for a date night with the hubby, dinner with your girlfriends, or even a big get-together with friends and family. The staff is accommodating, the building is beautiful, and did we mention how good the food was?! Thank you so much for hosting our Mom’s Night Out!
Our Sweet-Tooth Satisfier: Thank you so much to Molly’s Cupcakes, who provided their delicious cupcakes for our event! Everyone raved about how amazing they are! So if you’re looking for cupcakes for your next event, party, or just a little mid-day pick-me-up, make sure to stop in! Bet you can’t eat just one!!
Our Co-Sponsors: We were so thrilled to have some of our loyal sponsors represented at our first big event! Robinson Family Wellness (and Sweet Feet Yoga) are truly dedicated to making our community a healthier, happier place for our families, and we are so glad that they were able to meet with some of our readers last night. They also gave away an amazing Wellness Package in our Raffle! Running Wild was there to encourage our moms to keep healthy, active lifestyles (complete with giveaways and some amazing additions to the swag bags!). To help keep our skin healthy and fresh, we had our Mary Kay Representatives Karen and Linda on hand to share the latest and greatest from this tried-and-true cosmetic brand that we all love. And, last but certainly not least, Chloe + Isabel Jewelry helped make our event sparkle with their beautiful jewelry! (If you didn’t get to see all of the pieces last night, be sure to check out her ad on our side-bar!)
Our Photographer: All of the GORGEOUS photos that you are looking at today were taken by Ruby Ellen Photography. A special thanks to Robyn for being our photographer for the evening, and for capturing all of the special moments of our first event! Please check out Robyn’s album on our Facebook page and tag yourself and your friends in the pictures! After that, head over to Ruby Ellen’s website to see all (i.e. 528!) of the photos from the event. (To view the photos, use the code on the Ruby Ellen business card from your swag bag!)
Our Swag Bag Contributors: Thanks to the following sponsors, not only did our guests enjoy a wonderful evening out, they were also able to go home with a swag bag* full of coupons, samples, and other goodies from all kinds of great, local businesses! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed an item to our swag bags!

OUR GUESTS! Most importantly, there would be no event without you, our guests!! We were (happily) overwhelmed by the turn out to our first event, and we are so excited about the community of moms that is forming in the Iowa City and surrounding areas due to the connections being made via the Iowa City Moms Blog. This, in the end, is our goal: to connect local moms to each other and to local businesses, and to form a strong, close-knit community of moms and families in our area. We are doing our best to complete this mission, and we were SO happy to see all of you coming together and sharing an evening together! By the way, a special shout out to all of you who came out solo–how brave of you for coming on your own, and our hope is that you were no longer “alone” when you left! We saw so many friendships being made right in front of our eyes, and to be honest that was the most beautiful/delicious/rewarding part of the evening for us! THANK YOU for coming, and we can’t wait to see you at more upcoming events! Keep spreading the word about this great network of local moms!
