A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That…{An Update Post and Some Randomness}

As you know, we just celebrated our 6-month blog anniversary! YAYY!!! Super exciting!! Thank YOU readers again for all you do! It’s been such a wonderful adventure already and I’ve loved meeting you gorgeous gals (and gents too). =)

Well, in the beginning, (oooh, with that starter line, I feel like I’m about to tell a grand story from an old book! Ha, anyways…) my very first blog post, Procrastination at its FINEst, I talked about my struggle with putting things off. I mentioned my lovely sister-in-law and the throw pillows I’d promised to make for her. Good news, I did finally get them sewn and recovered! I do admit, I still have yet to complete the finishing touches: fabric flowers, ribbon accents, and maybe some fun buttons and burlap. But hey, at least I got a start on them, right?! 😉

Next: I am happy to announce that we added to the family! No, no, you didn’t miss any special announcement about me having a baby or anything (trust me, 3 kids is enough for me!) This new member has 4 legs and is much furrier than our other kiddos. Yes, after many months of searching, we finally brought home a dog… a puppy to be exact! If you remember, we had a hard time finding one that would be a good fit for our crazy bunch in my post, WANTED: FAMILY DOG. But alas, Ezrah, our St. Bernard is PERFECT!!! We all adore her, she is GREAT with the kids, and the cat tolerates her… not to mention, she’s beautiful and the center of attention wherever we take her. =)

Lastly, this was just too good not to share. Have you all seen those life-hacks on Pinterest? Well some of them are posts about getting things done in a simpler way. And hey, I’m a mom, and if there’s a cheat to some lengthy task, you better believe I’m going to take it. So, I found this one that takes all the time and effort out of curling your hair. It yields perfect ringlets without any heat or curling iron, wand, rods, etc. You just twirl sections of your wet hair into little buns and pin them, let dry overnight, and voila! Easy enough. I decided to give it a shot. HELLO PINSTROCITY!!! Apparently, you’re not supposed to wind the hair quite soo tightly or you’ll end up looking like this. Please, have a good laugh at my expense. I know I did! Ha!

Stay-at-home-Momma to 3 rambunctious, but adorable kiddos, and wife to her talented husband, Gabriel, Tara spends most of her days in a hectically blessed world! Her two boys, Simeon (6) and Solomon (5), and sassy 3-year-old daughter, Surion, help keep her on her toes. She is proud to call Kalona her home and settled in quickly after moving from central Iowa a few years ago to launch a ministry in the IC area. Her family is an avid supporter of all the local “Hawks”… Go Black and Gold! She claims that exercise is not her strong suit, but continues to condition her body (mostly through running) in hopes that one day, it will come naturally to her. She enjoys being creative through crafting and DIY projects, and admits that her body is a canvas and artistic outlet with her many tattoos and piercings. Tara has a special place in her heart for “finding a good deal,” and can often be found scouring local thrift stores for all sorts of wonderful treasures! She is truly passionate about litter-removal and recycling and hopes her obsession will rub off on the munchkins so they can lead a “clean” life in their future. Lastly, and most importantly, Tara has a heart for the Lord and is thrilled to be involved with her community MOPs group. =)
