Thank you to all of you who braved the stormy weather conditions on Sunday for our Easter Egg Hunt event with Delta Delta Delta and MidWestOne Bank! While we wish we would have been able to hold the event outdoors as originally planned, we are grateful to the Iowa Memorial Union for providing us indoor space at the last minute!
We were so happy to see so many of you there, including many of our loyal readers and lots of new faces as well! We were blown away by the response…we had over 400 kids attend, plus their parents, older siblings, and caregivers! It was amazing to see so many of you attend the event as a family and enjoying the festivities together!
The Activities:
Our friends from Delta Delta Delta did a terrific job painting kids’ faces at the event! We saw Easter bunnies, eggs, rainbows, and more on a lot of smiling faces! Our kids had one on each cheek and probably would’ve gone back for more if they’d had room!
Balloon Animals
Special thanks to Chad the Not So Bad for making some truly amazing balloon creations for our guests. This station was definitely the hit of the event and kids and parents alike were raving over his skills. We only wish we had more time for him to make a creation for everyone! Check out our Facebook gallery see more examples of his balloon art.
The Easter Bunny
We are so glad the Easter Bunny was able to make an appearance at our event and have a chance to meet all of the kids! Families were able to meet and take their own photos with the Easter Bunny. We saw a lot of babies and small children getting to meet the Easter Bunny for the 1st time! And for the most part everyone was excited to see him. For those whose children were not so thrilled, they definitely left with a memorable photo!
What is an Egg Hunt event without eggs and candy? While we were disappointed that we were unable to have an actual egg hunt due to moving the event indoors, it didn’t seem to phase the kids a bit! They were so excited to carry around their Easter baskets and collect eggs and candy. More importantly, they were just excited to get to eat it!
Games
Thanks to our Co-Host sponsor, MidWestOne Bank for bringing a fun bags game to keep the kids entertained while waiting in line. They also had an awesome table set up with a “Guess the correct price” game, complete with candy, coloring books, and reusable shopping bags to take home!
