Friday, July 18th

Sidewalk Sales, Downtown Iowa City July 17-19.  Head downtown to check out all the great deals area businesses have to offer!

Snoopy! The Musical, 7:30 p.m. at the Old Creamery Theatre in Amana.  Runs through August 10th. It’s the world according to Snoopy! Come join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Linus and Sally as they celebrate the wisdom of Charles Schultz and the world’s most famous Beagle in this delightful musical that’s fun for the whole family. Tickets are $28 for adults and $18.50 for students. Special kids ticket price: $10! Snoopy!!! The Musical is Rated Theatre G.

Park It at the Movies, dusk (around 9:00 p.m.) at S.T. Morrison Park in Coralville.  Coralville offers an outdoor family movie night each summer.  Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and enjoy a free movie night under the stars at a neighborhood park.  Showing Despicable Me 2.

Saturday, July 19th

Iowa County Fair Kid’s Day, Marengo.  The fair goes from July 16-July 20.  There will be a kiddie pedal pull, watermelon feed, dunk tank, pony rides, Bill Riley Talent Show, carnival, Ginger the clown, snow cones and sweet corn, youth dance and more!

BBQ and Brew, NewBo Market in Cedar Rapids.  (This one you’ll want to find a sitter for!) NewBo City Market’s second annual BBQ & Brew event will be held on July 19, 2014. The event is a celebration of regionally produced barbeque dishes and homebrew (and craft!) beer. Producers of quality barbeque cuisine (in both American and international styles), homebrew beer, and commercial beer from the region are invited to showcase their menus for an expected audience of at least 5,000 attendees, and to be judged by a team of local food critics.  Tickets: $25 and $40.
