Friday, October 10th
UI Homecoming Parade, 5:45 p.m. in Downtown Iowa City. It’s Homecoming!! Bring your family out to enjoy the numerous floats, Hawkeye marching band, local high school bands, cheerleaders, Herky, and more! Spots fill up quickly, so be sure to go early and scope out a spot!!
The Wallflowers Free Concert, on the Pentacrest following the Homecoming Parade. The Wallflowers formed their band in 1989 with co-founder and frontman, Jakob Dylan. The band was initially based out of Los Angeles, California where they picked up their alternative-rock sound. The band is most recognized for their 90’s material as they won two Grammy Awards for their 1998 hit, “One Headlight”.
Old Fashioned Hay Rack Ride, Friday and Saturday night from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Colony Pumpkin Patch. Rides are 20 to 30 minutes long and we’ll show some short Halloween classics and other kid favorites on the big screen, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Pre-registration is required in person at the the North Liberty Community Center by October 9th. Cost: $4/person or $12/family of 4.
Saturday, October 11th
Flick or Treat: Casper, 10:00 a.m. @ Sycamore Mall Theatre. Join us Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10AM, October 3 – October 26 to view your favorite Halloween family flicks for just $2! This week’s showing is Casper. Concessions specials include $2.50 popcorns and soft drinks.
Sass Family Farm Pumpkin Fest, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Riverside. Head out to this annual event which includes: fun kids games, delicious food vendors, special offers on crafts and fresh fall produce on Sat & Sunday. This in addition to our regular hayrack rides, haunted barn, straw jump & maze, playground equipment, fort fright, balloon jump, petting zoo, crafts & antiques, event area, movies for kids and more fall produce you can shake a stick at!
