Friday, May 15th
Friday Night Concert Series from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Downtown Iowa City. Summer of the Arts starts up again in Iowa City. Grab your lawn chairs and head on down to the Weatherdance Fountain Stage (by the Iowa City Public Library) in Iowa City for some excellent music and entertainment. Tonight’s performance will be Inti-Illimani, brought to you by Hancher.
Saturday, May 16th
Iowa City Farmers Market 7:30 a.m.-Noon in Downtown Iowa City. Have you even been to the Iowa City Farmers Market? If not, it is a must see. Fresh produce, hand made goods, local food vendors and a children’s area. There is something here for everyone!
Family Swim from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Robert A. Lee Rec Center in Iowa City. Looking for some indoor family fun? You can swim for just $1 on Saturday nights at the Rec Center pool. Kids age 2 and under are free!
Saturday Night Skate from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Robert A. Lee Rec Center in Iowa City. The rec center also offers FREE skating (including roller skates) on Saturday nights. Beginners can skate from 6:00-8:00 and advanced skaters can skate from 8:00-9:00. The event is free, but does require a facilities pass.
Sunday, May 17th
Kernels Baseball Game @ 2:05 p.m. Head over to Cedar Rapids for a baseball game with the family. Following the game, there is a Chuck Fulton Home Run Derby. This is free for kids ages 12 and under. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and trophies will be awarded to each age group. Registration is required so be sure to check out the link for more information! The Kernels are playing all weekend, so if Sunday does not work out for you and your family, head to their Friday night game starting at 6:30 p.m. or Saturday when they play at 5:05 p.m.
