You know the one. You’ve seen her at the grocery store. She’s holding her grocery list in one hand, pushing the cart with the baby’s carseat with the other hand, and playing a guessing game with her two toddlers as they walk behind her, stepping on her heels at every turn. You’ve sat and chatted with her at the playdate. She is forever upbeat, praising her children as they run around the playground and dig in the dirt, and also taking the time to look you in the eye and ask how YOU are doing. We call them “super moms”. And they deserve a break!
At Iowa City Moms Blog we are all about supporting, encouraging, and recognizing moms in our community. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we want to give YOU a chance to nominate an amazing mom in your life to win the ULTIMATE Mother’s Day Prize Package (seriously, AMAZING prizes)! This could be your own mom (or grandma), your sister, your cousin, your friend, your wife (ahem, hubbies), or just a mom you know from the community. Any mom that you would call a “super mom”.
We will be taking submissions (800 words or less) starting TODAY, and you can keep sending them in until Saturday, April 25th. For ideas, check out last year’s nominees. The finalists will be selected by a panel of judges and will be announced on Monday, May 4th. Then Iowa City Moms Blog readers will vote to choose the winner! Our winner will be announced on Thursday, May 7th, just in time for Mother’s Day Sunday!
*Super Mom nominees must live in the Corridor (Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Cedar Rapids, and immediate surrounding areas) and be able to pick up prizes in the Iowa City/Coralville area.
