I am over halfway through my pregnancy with baby #2 and I can hardly believe how fast it has gone. I am moving through my to-dos of getting things ready for this sweet girl to join our family this summer. My current project is pulling newborn items out of storage.
We definitely overdid it on baby gear with our first. There were so many things we never used or only used once. Then there were the things that we could not have lived without. (Or we could have but this mama would have lost her mind.) Check out this (totally unsponsored!) list of my top ten must-have baby products that we will definitely be using again the second time around.
Aveeno Baby Shampoo and Lotion
This stuff is the best! My kiddo has the softest skin ever, and it lasts forever!
Solly Baby Wrap
These things are so well made! I tried several different brands and this one was my favorite! It was the perfect fabric and had great online tutorials and support when trying to figure out how to use it.
Woombie Swaddler
I couldn’t keep my little one snug and secure in any of the swaddle blankets, but this magic thing brought me HOURS of sleep.
Swing
Our little one had a fussy period, and this thing was our savior. He loved it and I remember being so terrified he would grow out of it. All worked out fine in the end, but it was a must-have.
White Noise Machine
This noise became part of our bedtime routine very early on, and even now my 20-month-old knows this means bedtime.
Diaper Inserts
When babe started rolling over on his tummy to sleep, it would cause diaper leakage, which would then wake up baby, who was cold, wet, and cranky. After trying every freaking brand and size of overnight diaper, I found these on a chat board at 3 a.m. Even my blood-shot eyes realized they were basically a maxi pad without the sticky, but I was desperate, so I ordered them and finally he didn’t leak. I do recommend folding them in half for doubled-up protection.
Teether
Man, those times were hard. Baby was in pain and uncomfortable, and I just wanted it to be over. But with some pain reliever and this teether, we made it through.
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes
My firstborn loved this thing! We used it in the car and it was a great distraction and a way to expose our little one to classical music. We just found this in the diaper bag and he still loves it!
Ikea Bib
Once you break out the rice cereal and purees, things get messy real fast. Fortunately, this bib was a lifesaver to keep stains off his clothes and prevent babe from needing a bath after every meal.
What are your baby essentials?
Meg, you rock! Thanks for this!
<3 thank you 🙂
