Favorite Aldi Finds

Aldi is ahhhhh-mazing.  If you go, you already know. If you don’t, you NEED to check it out. We have a beautiful newly remodeled location in Iowa City and another great location in Coralville.  They recently partnered with Instacart for delivery service, and their prices really cannot be beat!  While I love so many things at Aldi, I had to share my favorites with you now.

1. Wine

For $2.89 you can have delicious wines.  My fav is their Winking Owl line, specifically the Cabernet Sauvignon, but they have a ton of options all at affordable price points.

2. Produce

My kids could eat an entire container of berries at every meal so I stock up on Aldi produce since prices anywhere else are physically painful. Recently they had the most delicious Pears and our family could not get enough of them. Check out their produce-of-the-week items for even higher discounted deals. 

3. Bread

I love love love this bread.  While it is a little pricey for Aldi, it is still a good price and totally worth it for organic bread.  It makes the best grilled cheese sandwiches, toast, everything!  My current obsession is to toast a slice, add a layer of the Aldi whipped cream cheese, then top it with some jam or jelly. 

4. Milk

Another discounted item to the rescue is Aldi’s milk. Sometimes their milk prices go down to UNDER $2.  The first time I saw this I asked a staff member if it had gone bad! I still cannot believe their price on milk. I was paying nearly $5 a gallon for non-organic milk at other retailers. 

5. Random Finds

Also known as the Seasonal Isle or Aldi Finds, you can find a variety of premium items here at excellent prices.  I recently got some stockers stuffers and a few Christmas gifts for way below the cost at other retailers–online and in-store.  I also scored a Kitchen comfort mat to stand on while washing dishes for under $10.  I had been eyeing one at other retailers for anywhere from $30-$60!  This is also a great place to get your big ticket items for holiday meals! Their prices cannot be beat in town on turkey and ham.
